Smile, Sweetie!

Hello, hello! I’m so excited to share my second project that I created for this month’s challenge over at the Clever Dexter blog. Our sponsor this month is Polkadoodles, our theme is sparkle and glitter, and our optional color palette is amber, red, sandstone, classic blue, and green sheen.

For this card I used the Sweet Heart Balloons Honeypie stamp from Polkadoodles. Oh. My. Goodness. I love, love, love this adorable stamp!

To create this card I first trimmed a piece of blue glitter cardstock to 3.75″ x 5″. I used the Big Smile die from MFT on a piece of yellow polkadot patterned paper to cut out my sentiment, backing it with the glitter paper. I added the small inside part of the letter e. Next I used a sentiment from the Tons of Type stamp set by The Stamp Market and Hero Arts Intense Black ink to add a secondary sentiment below the die cut one.

After coloring the stamped image in with a variety of Copic markers (my favorite place to get Copic markers is scrapbookpal.com) I used Nuvo Crystal Glaze to add some really cool dimension to the balloon that the little girl is holding.

When the Nuvo Crystal Glaze had dried I adhered the image to the card panel using my favorite Bearly Art glue (use code SAMANTHA for ten percent off of your order!) and then layered that onto a card base created from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb cardstock. Finally I added a few blue gems.

I had so much fun making this card. I hope you’ll join in on this month’s challenge over at the Clever Dexter blog. I can’t wait to see what you’ll be inspired to create!

Until next time,

Samantha
