Hello, Sunshine!

Hello, hello! I’ve got a super cute card to share with you today that I created for the August 2021 Clever Dexter challenge. This month’s theme is to use a stencil and the optional color palette is white, navy, dusty blue, fuchsia, and sand.

I made this card using the absolutely adorable digital stamp set called Bunny Summer which was provided by La casetta sullalbero di Chicca, the sponsor for this month’s Clever Dexter challenge.

To begin I colored in my image using a variety of alcohol ink markers and added just a little bit of black Gelly Roll glaze pen to the eye of the unicorn floatie and to the nose of the little bunny. I like doing this from time to time to create a bit of dimension.

For my background I created two sections which I masked off between blending by using full adhesive backed Post It notes.

For the sky portion of my backyard I blended Shaded Lilac, Salvaged Patina, and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks.

For the water potion of my background I used the Simon Says Stamp Stencil Waves stencil over which I blended Speckled Egg, Peacock Feathers, and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide inks.

I used Hero Arts Intense Black ink and a stamp from the Summer Lovin’ stamp set by Catherine Pooler along the bottom of my panel to add a fun sentiment along the bottom of my water portion.

I cut my panel as well as a piece of white cardstock out with two sizes of dies from the Petite Scallop Rectangles Stacklets die set by Taylored Expressions. When I was done I added my image along the top of the water portion of the panel near the sky portion.

I adhered my card panel on top of the white cardstock and added both to a base that I created from a soft lilac colored cardstock.

I hope that you’ll join us over for the August 2021 Clever Dexter challenge. I can’t wait to see what you’ll make!

Until next time,
