Fin Up

Hello, hello! Samantha here with some exciting news; I’ve been asked to join the Clever Dexter Design Team! If you weren’t already aware the Clever Dexter blog issues a new challenge every month along with free downloadable digital stamps from a variety of artists.

This month’s challenge features stamps from Stampers Delights. The optional color palette is peach, apricot, sage, gold, and yellow. The theme is Hello Summer.

For today’s project I’m using the Marina Mermaid stamp set from Stampers Delights.

To begin I printed my images out on 80lb Neenah Solar White Classic Crest cardstock. I colored the beautiful mermaid and her little fishy friend in using Spectrum Noir Triblend markers. I cut them out and decided to fussy cut around the sentiment as well.

Next I took an A2 sized card panel and blended Salvaged Patina, Mermaid Lagoon, and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide inks. On the back of this panel I placed a double sided adhesive sheet from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Using the Waves Die from Avery Elle I die cut my panel. After removing the tape backing I applied it to an A2 sized acetate sheet from Kat Scrappiness.

I used Mustard Seed Distress Oxide ink to create a vibrant front on an A2 sized note card.

I applied foam tape along the edges of the Waves Die and filled the resulting well with a variety of sequins. After adhering this to my card front I glued my images down over the die.

Using some seaweed dies from an unknown source (my friend sent them to me in a plastic sleeve without a label) I die cut several images from a few different colors of cardstock. I added these below my stamped images.

All in all I think that this card is a fun way to say hello summer as well as to provide some encouragement.

Be sure to head over to the Clever Dexter blog to join in on the latest challenge. Can’t wait to see you over there!

Until next time,

Samantha Ziegenfuß
