Right Meow

Hello, hello! I’m so excited to share my card that I created for my guest design over on the Clever Dexter blog for the June challenge using the Cat Lady Creepy Cute Chronicle stamp from Oddball Art.

This month’s theme is favorite technique and the color palette is yellow, orange, peach, tangerine, and gold.

To begin I created a faux watercolor background using Distress Oxide inks in Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber, and Ripe Persimmon. This is one of my absolute favorite techniques.

Next I used some gold mirror cardstock from Tonic Studios to cut out the Geometric Background die from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I intentionally cut some sections out to give it a more distressed appearance.

I left some of the geometric shapes in the die to create an interesting look. Then, using a variety of alcohol ink markers I colored in the cat girl and, not pictured, one of her feline companions. I just adore her brown and purple hair.

I glued both to the card front.

I used the retired Right Meow stamp set from Simon Says Stamp to white heat emboss a sentiment onto black cardstock that I felt fits well with this image and added it to the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to head on over to the Clever Dexter blog and enter the latest challenge! I can’t wait to see what you’ll make!

Until next time,

Samantha Ziegenfuß
