Stay Cute

Hello, hello! I’m so excited to be guest designing again for the Clever Dexter blog’s June challenge! Today I’ve got a card that features one of my absolute favorite techniques; alcohol ink blending with foiling.

First I created my alcohol inked panel on Yupo paper using Tim Holtz alcohol inks in Sunshine Yellow, Butterscotch, and Sunset Orange.

When it was dry but still tacky I applied a Thermoweb Deco Foil Transfer Sheet in Gold on top (shiny side up!) and then lifted it off.

Next I colored in the pencil and apple images from the Back to School Creepy Cute Chronicle stamp from Oddball Art using a variety of alcohol ink markers.

I used the frame die from the retired Grid Frame die set by Simon Says Stamp and white 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock to create a frame around my alcohol ink panel.

Next I glued the pencil slightly over the apple and popped both up on foam tape. I added the sentiment from the set that reads “stay cute” along the bottom of the panel. Finally, after adhering it all to a white, A2 sized note card I added a few yellow sequins.

Head on over to the Clever Dexter blog and enter the latest challenge! I can’t wait to see what you make.

Until next time,

Samantha Ziegenfuß
