Rainbow Gelato

Hello, hello! I’m so excited to share that I’m guest designing for the Clever Dexter challenge blog for the month of June! The theme is ‘favorite technique’ and the colors are yellow, orange, peach, tangerine, and gold.

Today I’ve got a really fun card to share with you that I created using the Gelato Creepy Cute Chronicle stamp from Oddball Art.

To begin I colored my image in using a variety of pastel colored alcohol ink markers. I absolutely love the look of this!

Next I did one of my favorite techniques that I often forget about; using an embossing folder on gold mirror cardstock. This particular kind is from Tonic Studios and the embossing folder is an older one from Recollections.

I used the Waffle Flower Nesting Circles Die set to cut a circle from hot pink cardstock, adhered that to a piece of black cardstock, and wrapped the black cardstock with a strip of vellum. I added a sentiment from the Birdie Brown Greetings Galore stamp set from My Favorite Things which I white heat embossed onto the lower portion of the black cardstock.

After I glued everything together I added it to a white, A2 sized card base and used clear Wink of Stella to add sparkle to my rainbow sorbet and Glossy Accents to add dimension to the cherry on top.

That’s it! I think that this is such a fun card and I had a great time making it.

Be sure to check out the Clever Dexter blog and enter the latest challenge!

Until next time,

Samantha Ziegenfuß
