I have a love/hate relationship with social media. I could go on and on about what I hate but instead let me tell you about what I love; the connections and friendships I’ve made, the interesting things that I’ve learned, and the inspiration I get. Speaking of inspiration that’s what brings us to today’s card.
While scrolling through Instagram I happened upon this very cute card created by Lien (image and link shared with permission.)
I was immediately drawn in by its simple yet elegant design and knew that I needed to CASE (copy and selectively edit) this. I loved the lines and how they draw your eye to that adorable kitty framed by its circle die cut.
Not wanting to make an identical card I opted to make mine in the portrait orientation instead of landscape and instead of having my strips of paper horizontal I decided to go vertical. I chose to stick with Lien’s fantastic overall design by also including a circle die cut to frame my image.
I used Mama Elephant’s Quick Stripe die set to make some paper strips in a couple of different widths. I used mustard yellow, olive green, and navy blue cardstock.
After lining my paper strips along the right hand side of my card I added my black die cut circle (created using Waffle Flower’s Nesting Circles Die set), over which I placed my stamped flower.
I used the Sketched Flowers set from Simon Says Stamp to add a simple ‘hello’ sentiment to the lower left of the card.
To finish it off I added a small smattering of sequins.
Thank you again to Lien for the awesome inspiration and for letting me share your beautiful card here on my blog.
Until next time,
