Sweet Elephant Card

Hello, hello! I have been in a bit of a card making slump recently so I decided to do something that I enjoy; coloring.

I sat down to color and surprise, surprise; it turned into a card. I love when that happens.

For this card I stamped the Elephant with Flower stamp from Whimsy Stamps (I think this is a retired stamp) onto 80lb Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I colored it in using some Nuvo alcohol markers by Tonic Studios and some Spectrum Noir Triblend Brush Markers.

When I was done coloring I used a full sticky back Post It note to create a mask for the image and did some ink blending over it with Speckled Egg and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide inks.

After removing my mask I used “have a sweet day” from the Pinkfresh Studio Simply Sentiments- Hello stamp set along the bottom of my card panel.

I adhered the panel to a card base created from 110lb Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and used a few sequins from Cartwright’s Sequins.

If your ever lose your mojo I encourage you to try playing with your supplies. Do a bit of ink blending or some coloring. Don’t pressure yourself to actually make something. It will come.

Here is my finished card.

Have a sweet day.

Until next time,

Samantha Ziegenfuß
