Red & Gold & Christmas; Oh My!

Hello, hello! Samantha here and I am as pleased as punch to be a guest elf for the latest Christmas Kickstart Challenge. For this challenge I’ve created a very traditional, somewhat CAS red and gold Christmas card to share with you today.

I used Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple, Fired Brick, and Aged Mahogany Distress Oxide inks on a white A2 sized card base to create a simple ink blended background. I added a few spritzes of water to the card front and dabbed away the excess with a cloth.

Next I stamped and gold heat embossed a tree from the Simon Says Stamp Festive Trees stamp set to three things: the card front, a sheet of patterned paper from Authentique, and a sheet of black cardstock.

I used one of the coordinating dies to cut out the cardstock and patterned paper trees. I adhered the trees so that they all overlapped one another.

I stamped a sentiment from the Just Plain Christmas Greetings stamp set from Unity to a strip of white cardstock. I glued the sentiment strip to the lower right hand portion of my card front.

Finally I added a few small, gold colored sequins to add a subtle touch of bling.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope my card will inspire you to create something merry and bright. I can’t wait to see what you make!

Until next time,

Samantha
