Hey, Jude

*Blows dust off blog* Wow. It has been such a long time since I’ve blogged on my blog without it being for a hop or a challenge or a series.

I really like this card so I thought I’d tell you a bit more about it.

What I used:

Bazzill Basics Paper in Whirlypop

The Simon Says Stamp Center Cut Heart background stamp

The Simon Says Stamp Hey Love die

White cardstock

White craft foam

Some washi tape

White embossing powder

Versamark Watermark ink

I folded my blue cardstock in half to create a 4.5″ x 4.5″ card. I love this cardstock by Bazzill a lot. I buy it from Joann Fabrics when they have their crazy cheap open stock paper sales (10/$1.00 or better). It’s a really nice, thick weight and comes in a rainbow of beautiful colors.

I used some washi tape to mask off a border around the card and dabbed (Okay. Dumped) my anti static powder tool all across the front.

Then I inked up my Center Cut Heart stamp with my Versamark Watermark ink pad. I love this stamp. I got it after Valentine’s day for dirt cheap and it’s really versatile. I stamped it and then heat set it with white embossing powder.

I removed the washi tape and pulled up a bit of my cardstock along with it 😆 whoops!

Then I took the Hey, Love die and used it to die cut some craft foam and some white cardstock. I like this die because the words are not connected. You can use them together or separately. Though if I’m being 100% honest it does bug me that there is no comma. 🤦

I stuck the cardstock “hey” to the foam “hey” and slapped it (aka very carefully glued it) to the card.

Ta-da!

That’s it.

I really admire the CAS (clean and simple) style and have been practicing it. It doesn’t come easily to me. I struggle to fight my urges to add all the things. To leave it alone and walk away is so hard to do! I did it on this card. Mostly. After I took this photo I added some small white hearts lol. Couldn’t help myself.

Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time,

Samantha
