Hello, hello! I was greatly blessed by many amazing crafty friends this year for my birthday. I received beautiful, gorgeous cards and amazing, generous, thoughtful gifts.
I am one heck of a lucky mammal.
One of my friends, Inez (find her on Instagram here and on YouTube here), sent me two of the things I used on this card; a very cool stencil by Pretty Pink Posh called Triangles Stencil and Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Moonstone.
My friend Flo (find her on Instagram here and on her blog here) sent me a beautiful die from Simon Says Stamp called the ‘Hey Love Wafer Die’.
First I placed the stencil onto a piece of white cardstock and stuck it down with low tack adhesive tape.
I spread the Glimmer Paste across it with a craft spatula. After removing the stencil (make sure you wash it right away!) I left the panel to dry overnight. You probably don’t need to let it dry for quite that long. I don’t think I would have had I not forgotten about it lol!
Anyway. After it was dry I used three colors of Distress Oxide inks to do a very simple ombre blend over the top: Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry, and Spun Sugar.
Next I trimmed the cardstock down to 4″ x 5.25″. I grabbed a bit of vellum which was cut to 1.75″ x 6.25″ and scored it on the 6.25″ side at .5″ and 5.75″.
I applied .25″ Scor Tape on the insides of the .5″ flap and attached one flap behind the panel.
I placed double sided adhesive on the back of some black cardstock and die cut the ‘Hey Love’ sentiment twice. I attached the first die cut to the front of the vellum along the right side and then stuck the second die cut directly behind that one which caused the vellum to be sandwiched between the two die cuts.
I then removed the tape backing from the other .5″ flap of vellum and secured the flap to the back of the panel. I pressed down firmly on the die cuts to make sure the second fully adhered to the panel.
I layered it onto a white A2 sized card base and called it good.
I’m very grateful for the friends I have made on my card making journey. You guys are all so amazing. Thanks for making my birthday better.
Until next time,
Dirt, Shirt, I heart Kurt.
(Cobain that is 💚),
Samantha
