Ink Blended Critter Concert Card

Hi, everyone! One of my co-workers is a music teacher. Every time I see anything having to do with music I think of her. The adorable Critter Concert stamp set by Lawn Fawn was no exception.

Even though her birthday is many months away I figured I’d get a head start and make her card.

I started with a 3.5″ x 3.5″ square of white cardstock. I stamped three of the critters to that and then masked them using Post It notes. This was my first time using the full adhesive backed Post It notes for my masking and I have to admit that I like it much more than my usual notebook paper slathered in repositionable adhesive 😆

I used Distress Inks in Chipped Sapphire, Spiced Marmalade, and Mustard Seed to create the background. I absolutely love these colors together.

After removing the masks and coloring the critters in I mounted the 3.5″ x 3.5″ white cardstock panel onto a 3 5/8″ x 3 5/8″ bit of black cardstock. Then I mounted that to a 4″ x 4″ orange card base.

I added a sentiment strip from the stamp set to the card, inking around the edges with that Spiced Marmalade ink to tie all of the orange colors together and finished the card by adding three black enamel dots.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and as always, have a fantastic day.
